Since childhood I have been either drawing, coloring or painting. Painting gives me a sense of immense satisfaction and joy. My purpose in painting is not only to bring me joy but to bring joy to others. Although I started out drawing people, faces and animals as a kid, watercolor is my first love. With watercolor you're never sure how it's going to look when it dries and control is difficult. Mistakes are often a good thing. Watercolors are unpredictable and that is what I love about them.
I like to paint BIG, BOLD paintings of roses that are detailed and vibrant. I started creating these big paintings about 12 years ago while still living in Georgia. Before college, I studied with Ann Cockerill from Austell, Georgia, an accomplished watercolorist and teacher who is a great inspiration to me.
